Web design

I was a bit disappointed when I learned we had to use web design to create our websites. I was actually loving the online templates from weebly and jimDO so to have experienced ease then to move to a super complicated program was a bummer. I mean I guess I always have the internet web designs for my own personal use: D

And one more thing I must add WD is a 1500 dollar program! Yeah right I will ever use it again!

Ipods

I was absent for the Ipod Lesson :(
but quite frankly I dont really see myself using Ipod technology in my class.. I'am old fashioned and I belive in books and paper and pen and all that good stuff.

Podcasts

Podcasts:

-not my favorite!

I don’t own a mac and I don’t think my future schools will even own one in the near future. While I can certainly see myself using podcasts in my lessons, I can’t see myself creating another podcast.

I just didn’t think that one day was enough to create a podcast from start to finish so I had to borrow a MAC computer from a friend just so I could finish my podcast. What I found was that I really hate surfing the web for pictures and that I HATE the sound of my voice!

oh and another thing, my podcast sound didn’t even end up working whaaa whaaawhaaa :(

oh well its a done deal at this point .... I don’t know I think making a video would be easier for me make in the future.

web Literacies

I Have to hand it to this week’s LESSON!!

It was such a blast to see all the fake websites or at least websites that were questionable I think this lesson is very purposeful to both college students and to younger students I hope to recreate this experience for my future children because I want them to be literate when it comes to online surfing!

imovie

IMovie: D what can I say? I LOVED IT!!!! Back in freshman yr. I would come over to my best friend’s house almost every other day just to watch the videos that he created. Back then I never thought I could create and edit a video but wow when I got my hands on iMovie I realized how easy it was to create a wonderful video. I like the ease of the program from uploading the video to cutting things out and adding a soundtrack to accompany the video. now I really want an apple laptop just for IMovie because me and my friends love making videos but we always end up bugging our friend to edit it for us :/

All in all I could see myself in the future creating a video and using it in the classroom. not everything that is found on the web is wonderful and therefore it might be a good idea to perhaps create videos on my own that presents the information in the manner that I want it to and since I will be in control of the video I can add as much as I want and present the material in the best manner to reach my students :)

google Maps

Google maps are amazing... I see so much potential with this program. I can easily see myself using this in my classroom because it’s fun easy and it really catches the student’s attention.

While I was creating my virtual tour I did stumble across some problematic issues such as that of saving and knowing how to use that Internet HTML language. I was very glad that we had an online tutorial that walked us through each and every step I have made a copy of such instructions for my future use. I hope that next time I use Google maps that I can be more creative and add more pictures and maybe work a little harder on the animation.

I did my mapping project on the following 5 universities of Oregon:

Western

University of Oregon

Eastern Oregon

Southern Oregon

Portland State University.

The reason why I choose these three universities is because they hid every section of Oregon north, south, east, west.

photoshop

PhotoShop was quite interesting, while at first I couldn't get the hang of it, I finally let loose and allowed myself to just explore and learn by trial and error. What I liked about PhotoShop is that it allowed me to take a picture and make changes to it to make it more MINE. I don't really know how or when Photoshop could be useful in the classroom besides maybe when I want to morph a bunch of pictures together to simplify "data" other than that I feel like the use of photoshop is more for leisure nonetheless, I enjyed the lesson in class.
